Abstract(s)
This paper deals with German banking language and banking communication from the point of view of lexicology. It is focused on present banking vocabulary. This paper tries to refer to the main influences of English language on the German banking language today. The foreign terminology is often used in the internal and external banking communication, in the banking Journals and publications and in the advertising texts. The English impact has increased in several past decades. More and more English expressions are used in an original form, not translated into German. The internationalisms are formed by the establishment of the global financial market in the world. English words are used in connection with Internet-Banking-Service too. English expressions infiltrate into the banking language of the national banking houses more frequently. This paper highlights the main grounds for this development trend in this special language.
