Abstract(s)
The article deals with different concepts of the term "context", both in Czech and in international (pragma)linguistic treatises. It concentrates on the contradictory approache towards the importance, the scope and the role of contextual factors in the interpretation of sentence semantics vs. utterance meaning represented by the relevance theorists and their followers, and semanticists as their opponents. The notion and existence of semantic enrichment and of the so-called unarticulated constituents as well as the extense of context-dependency / context sensitivity is discussed (on the Czech language materiál). In the end, the notion of "semantic minimalism" developed by H. Cappelen a E. Lepore is introduced.
