Abstract(s)
Responsibility and ethics of a translator and interpreter should be an important and emphasized aspect in preparation of students in the process of language teaching. In the process of a text transformation the attitude and way of thinking of a translator/interpreter is expressed to some extent and there are not expressed only his or her language skills and professional knowledge, but also his or her moral attitudes. For a professional work and behaviour of an interpreter it is necessary to have perfect language skills and also non-language skills. All those skills have to overlap. There is a lot of non-language skills that can students gain at interpreting training classes (e.g. exercises in anticipation, memory exercises, creation of interpreting patterns – stereotypes), but there are also some non-language skills that can be taught only to a limited extent – self-confidence, logical thinking etc. As far as non-language skills are concerned it is necessary to mention also interpreting protocol knowledge and knowledge of standards of professional ethics. It is the knowledge that one has to gain before starting a professional career as an interpreter.
