Abstract(s)
In the 1980s, Claude Lévi-Strauss criticized those anthropological studies that use kinship as a basis for understanding the interrelationships of observed individuals. As a supplement to the concept of perceived kinship via maternal or paternal lineage, he offered the concept of "houses" as a basic unit of organization. Within this concept, the social characteristics of the "house" as a basic unit of an individual's identification are inseparable from the material (material house) and semantic (name connected with the house) levels. his paper presents a group of studies based on fieldwork in Southeastern Europe focusing on the "house" as a social and semantic unit, and tries to thus provide the Czech academic environment with a chance to receive inspiration from this perspective.
Claude Lévi-Strauss v 80. letech podrobil kritice dosavadní antropologické studie využívající konceptu příbuzenství jako základu k pochopení propojenosti sledovaných jedinců. Vedle konceptu vnímané pokrevní spřízněnosti v mateřské či otcovské linii staví koncept "domů" jakožto základních organizačních jednotek. Sociální charakteristiky "domu" coby základní jednotky identiikace ve společnosti jsou v rámci tohoto konceptu neoddělitelné od roviny materiální (dům) a sémantické (např. jméno spojované s domem). Příspěvek představí dosavadní tradici textů, založených na terénních výzkumu v jihovýchodní Evropě, které se zaměřují na "dům" jako sémantickou a sociální jednotku a pokusí se inspiraci touto perspektivou zprostředkovat i českému badatelskému prostředí.
