Abstract(s)
Hyperkinetic disorder (HKD) is currently one of the most frequently diagnosed disorders in child psychiatry. HKD is defined in the tenth revision of International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10). Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD), which is comparable to HKP, is defined in the forth edition of Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders (DSM-IV). The comparison both the diagnostic categories indicates many congruences between them. However the HKD criteria are more rigorous and thus HKD is more restricted category which displays higher symptom severity. Nevertheless the knowledges of AD/HD can inspire the HKD researches, e.g. the research focusing on intersubjective differencies in the hyperkinetic children. DSM-IV defines the AD/HD subtypes and thus partly solves the intersubjective differencies issue. The investigations focusing on identificating of the AD/HD subtypes and their comparision provide the supporting base for the same research in HKD. This knowledge imports current interdisciplinary research which tries to describe HKD subtypes with genetically determined psychological and behavioral charakteristics.
