Abstract(s)
The research of anthroponyms as they can be found in 12th-13th century documents provided some new information relating to personal proper nouns of that period. 1. At that time, names of foreign origin prevail over names of Proto-Slavonic origin. 2. The number of adaptations of Czech names into Latin grows during the examined period. By the end of the 13th century, all compound anthroponyms had been adapted - by the formant - us that places them into the masculine 2nd declension (Soběslaus, Vladimírus), while derived names mostly remained in their original Czech jorm (Utěšen). Only names with the suffix -ekare adapted more frequently - by the formant -o that places them into the masculine 3rd declension (Ješek > Ješko, Gen. Ješekonis), other derived names are adapted in this way only occasionally (Smil > Smilo, Jeník > Jeníkus, Sezema > Sezemo).
