Abstract(s)
The article deals with the possibilities of reflecting certain phenomena that are often omitted by the academic study of religions. One of these phenomena is by the author labelled as "neoshamanism", because among its typical characteristics are extatic experiencies. Means of neoshamanism are psychedelic drugs, specific type of music and dance; its goal is personal and cultural transformation. Beginnings of neoshamanism are connected with religious experimentations of counterculture of 1960s and a typical example of the contemporary neoshamanism is a movement called rave. As an integral part of New Age Movement, neoshamanism tries to awake pre-modern religions and to unite them with high technology of present info-culture.
