Description
There is a chapter in Antonín Václavík's monography Luhačovské Zálesí which is a very valuable contribution covering the issue of traditional architecture. It provides a complex description of the house, yard and barns, enabling the reader to comprehend everything that is related to their functions in the ecosystem and farming of that time period. It is a collection of photographs of superb technical and artistic quality. As it is documented where and when they were taken, they document very accurately the way of life in the region of luhačovické Zálesí. Václavík's photo documentation that was made in various villages offers the opportunity to evaluate the development of architecture throughout several not-so-distant time periods, as well as to compare them with outlying areas of the neighbouring regions of Wallachia, Moravian Slovakia and Haná. The objective of the contribution is to present the changes and to cover the relicts of original buildings and to describe the way local people (especially their owners) looked at them.
