Abstract(s)
The article deals with the problems of transliteration of proper names from Czech into Russian language. These languages have two different graphics systems: Latin and Cyrillic. This leads to the problem of the transfer of proper names from one language to another. This problem is particularly manifested itself in the diplomatic environment, in journalism, in marriages, in some other areas and situations. Prior to the beginning of the 90s of the twentieth century in the Russian-speaking environment, officially accepted rules were used. With the wide spread of the Internet, as well as the strong development of tourism and bilateral trade, a mass violation of applicable rules of transliteration has become. Previously not very well-known among Russian Czech place names, surnames, historical realities, etc. have become more widely used, but without following the established rules of transliteration. The author does not intend to make a global reform of the rules of transliteration of Czech proper names in Russian, and he tries to answer the questions that arise during the process.
