Abstract(s)
V druhé polovině listopadu loňského roku proběhl v centru Prahy první ročník festivalu světla – SIGNAL. Tento festival, zaměřený na kreativní využití dostupných technologií v kombinaci s aspektem světelného záření, není jediným svého druhu. Praha se tak připojuje k dalším nejen evropským městům, která chtějí znovuoživit trend oslav světla. Cílem uvedeného textu proto bude představit tento festival v celé jeho šíři – jednak programovou část, jednak vybraná díla v městském veřejném prostoru. V závěru článku se pokusíme kriticky zhodnotit tento festival jako celek, jeho realizaci a přínos pro současný umělecko-společenský diskurs.
The first edition of festival of light called SIGNAL took place in the centre of Prague in the end of November 2013. This festival, which focused on the creative use of available technology in combination with the aspect of light, is not the only one of its kind. By holding the festival Prague is joining other not only European cities that want to revive this trend of celebration of light. The aim of this text is therefore to present this festival – the program part as well as the selected artworks in urban public space. In conclusion the article attempt to critically evaluate this festival as a whole, its implementation and contribution to contemporary art and social discourse.
