Тема настоящей статьи – исследование активного восприятия Гоголя в России в первых десятилетиях 20го века. Сравнительное изучение эстетического наследия и художественных произведений Дмитрия Мережковского и Андрея Белого (пьеса "Павел І" и роман "Серебряный голубь"). Изучение гоголевской поэтики в творчестве Д. Хармса, В. Мейерхольда (постановка "Ревизора") и Д. Шостаковича (опера "Нос").
Gogol's Poetics in Russian Modernism and Early Avant-Garde. Тhe object of the present paper is to map out the active reception of N. Gogol in Russia during the first decades of the 20th century. A comparison of aesthetics and literary works by Dmitry Merezhkovsky and Andrei Bely (the drama Paul I and the novel Silver Dove). Research into Gogol's poetics in the works of D. Kharms, V. Meyerhold (direction of The Inspector General) and D. Shostakovich (the opera The Nose).
