The aim of our research was to confirm the semantic, word forming, stylistic, and functional characteristics of Germanisms on the basis of a wider comparison of integrational processes and to demonstrate the connection of the quality of Germanisms in Slovak with those in neighbouring relative an non-relative languages. The most typical phenomena are represented by the semantic diversification or the differences in obsolescence which show the functional differences in the process of the integration of Germanisms in Czech and Slovak. The most important finding of the area research, i. e. the comparison of Germanisms in Slovak and Hungarian is the mutually conforming rootedness.
