Flora Kleinschnitz's Czech-Slovak qualifying procedure for the post of associate professor within the context of Slovak Studies at Charles University, Prague (a contribution to the history of Czech-Slovak literary relations in the inter-war period). Based on research in Czech and Slovak archives, the article deals with the life and works of Flora Kleinschnitz (1891–1946), a forgotten Slovak scholar, who as a disciple of J. Vlček was appointed associate professor in Czechoslovak literary history at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University, Prague. Methodologically, she belonged to the second positivist generation (A. Pražák, F. Frýdecký, A. Gregor, et al.). The main focus of her study was the Štúr generation, namely A. Sládkovič, whose works she approached with true emotion. While reconstructing the intricacies of the qualifying procedure, this paper specifies F. Kleinschnitz's achievements in literary history against the background of contemporary discussions about the Czech-Slovak literary relations.
