Abstract(s)
Při průzkumu kostela Panny Marie, sv. Petra a Pavla v Albrechticích (okr. Sušice) byl nalezen kamenný artefakt interpretovaný jako tzv. Schalenstein. Vyroben je z hrubozrného pískovce, má tvar nepravidelného soudku a v horní části je pravidelně rozmístěno sedm kruhových otvorů. Do otvorů byly zasouvány svíce, častěji byly otvory naplněny olejem a do něj vložen knot. Schalenstein je jednodušší obdobou luceren mrtvých a sloužil k udržování věčného světla na hřbitovech, případně v interiéru kostelů.
A stone artefact interpreted as a "schalenstein" was discovered in the course of excavations in the Church of the Virgin Mary and Sts. Peter and Paul in Albrechtice (Sušice district). It is made of coarse sandstone and shaped like an irregular barrel; its upper section contains 7 round apertures, regularly arranged. The apertures held candles, or they were (more frequently) filled with oil and supplied with a wick. A "schalenstein" is a simplified version of the lanterns of the dead and was used as eternal light in graveyards and church interiors.
