Между революцией и контрреволюцией: личность Лавра Корнилова

Lavr Kornilov was among the most noteworthy personalities in the Russian revolutionary year of 1917. As the highest-ranking military functionary he vehemently defended Russia's commitments to its allies – Great Britain and France – to continue engagement in the war. And as a successful leader, he climbed up all the rungs of hierarchy in the Russian Army in order to attain the office of its Commander-in-Chief. This study discusses Kornilov's activities in connection with his endeavors in the so-called putsch and sets them into the broader context of the actions of extraordinary individuals – personalities – in Russian history.
