Antika v baroku – kulisa nebo živý pramen? Antická tradice v barokní době a její využití na příkladu barokních slavností v cisterciáckém klášteře ve Žďáře

The study deals with the use of classical tradition in the literary level of baroque festivities on the example of two festivities held in the Cistercian monastery of Žďár. The introductory discussion on the role of classical tradition in the Latin literature of baroque Czechia and Moravia is followed with analysis of selected Latin texts including description of two respective festivities, illustrating the reception of ancient mythology and history, classical literary forms and occurence of quotations of ancient authors. The attention is also paid to the way, how these ancient motifs are used for the allegorical mediation of the Christian content.
