The author of the present study analyses the private correspondence of the Czech left-wing solicitor Ivan Sekanina reflecting his unsuccessful journey to Slovakia in 1938 in the period of the political crisis leading to Munich Agreement. Though it has prevalently a private character, it fully reflects the critical situation of the pre-war Czechoslovak state and the general disillusionment of the author.
