Description
The article focuses at the short story Капитанские часы by M. Kuzmin. It shows in which extend Kuzmin uses similar theme of the common man like N. V. Gogol in his famous story Шинель. The attitude to the theme is in Kuzmin's story a different one: the fate of the hero is determined not by some supernatural or cosmic factors but by anonymous administrativě. The article also shows the link of M. Kuzmin's prose and A. P. Chekhov; both of them use delicate irony in their narration.
