Abstract(s)
Článok sa zaoberá širokou oblasťou správy, ochrany a využívania ľudských pozostatkov v múzeách. Cieľom článku je poukázať na postupnú genézu legislatívy vo svete a osobitne v Českej republike v oblasti zaobchádzania s ľudskými pozostatkami v múzejnom prostredí. Prináša stručný prehľad dejín zberateľstva ľudských exemplárov. Väčší dôraz je kladený na medzinárodné dohovory, odporúčania a legislatívu USA a Spojeného kráľovstva, keďže tieto krajiny patrili medzi priekopníkov právneho zabezpečenia zbierok ľudských pozostatkov. Príspevok sa pokúša spojiť právne normy s etickým zaobchádzaním v múzejnej praxi.
The paper examines the broad field of management, protection and use of human remains in museums. Its aim is to point out the gradual genesis of legislation, worldwide and especially in the Czech Republic, concerning the treatment of human remains in the museum environment. It provides a brief overview of the history of collecting human remains. Attention is paid to international conventions, recommendations and especially the legislation in the USA and the United Kingdom that are pioneers in the legal protection of collections of human remains. The next section of the text describes the current situation in the Czech Republic and deals with the issue of the relevance of human remains in present-day museums. The paper attempts to connect legal norms with ethical treatment of human remains in museum practice.
