Deset let rizikové společnosti

This paper commemorates the anniversary of the origin of the term "risk society". It describes the dangerous elements in the development of modem society and investigates the evolution of Ulrich Beck's views concerning these problems. It deals also with some political consequences of increase of endangerment within modem society. It reveals how much Ulrich Beck contributed to the fact that sociology should return to the research of ecological consequences of its evolution and the ecological determinants of the possibilities of growth.
