Jakub Jacobeus is an interesting person of latin poetry who belogs boath to Slovak as Czech literature and culture. He is famous as an autor of Latin poem Gentis Slavonicae lacrume suspiria et vota. The study try to explain not only his poetical individuality but also his importace as a theological authority. The study also deals with various aspects of latin humanistic literature and importance of this autor as a builder of specific humanistic nationality.
