Abstract(s)
One of the key concepts in Pascal's thought is the heart. Pascal sees it as important as the knowledge of human beings and the knowledge of God. He considers the heart from three viewpoints: rational, volitional, and faithful. He shows that although some philosophers considered different faculties for the human being, the basis of them all is the heart. In this article, we try to depict that show the diffuse structure of Pensées, we can see threefold functions for the heart and that the heart is the basis of the nature of human beings.
