Abstract(s)
The article presents Vladimír Helfert's life events during World war II. Helfert was a member of Czech anti-Nazi resistant organization National Defence. He was twice arrested,  imprisoned and interrogated by the Gestapo. He was imprisoned for a  long time and in different locations, also in Wohlau where he wrote a secret correspondence with inmates. He died after the liberation of Terezín, 18.5. 1945. The author elaborates on what was Helfert's position in a resistance organization and also because of newly discovered archival sources, trying to map in detail  Helfert's war events. The article presents a  first overview and inventory of archival sources and funds in the Czech Republic, which document Helfert's life 1939–1945.
